What I'm Reading Now

Michael lives in my neighborhood. I do not know him but I see him around all the time. This book (his first) was named one of the top 10 best books of 2007 by the NY Times Book Review. He also just won the Impac Dublin Literary Award.

Shopping! Part Three

The third stop on my shopping trip yesterday was Sephora.

Quick story... a couple of weeks ago my cousin Katie asked me if I could recommend a good face lotion for her to use. When I told her about the Cosmedicine one I tried and liked a few months ago and said that she can only get it at Sephora, she goes, "What's Sephora?"

We're related, I swear... but I just don't know how it's possible. (Ha ha... In Katie's defense, she doesn't know what Sephora is because she's a natural beauty.)

Okay, now back to my trip.

I had a $100 to spend at Sephora in the form of a gift card and ended up getting three things:

1) Microdelivery Multi Peel Pads from Philosophy

I remembered reading about something like this on Laura's blog a while ago, but I couldn't remember what brand she got was when I was out yesterday. A lot of different companies make them and I ended up getting ones from Philosophy because my skin is somewhat sensitive and I was told they were gentle. I'll let you know how they work.


2) Opti-mologist Eye Cream with Light Diffusers by Cosmedicine


Since I really liked Cosmedicine's Primary Care Moisturizer, I decided to try the eye cream. The woman at Sephora told me it has caffeine in it, which, as you might know, helps reduce puffiness. (Caffeine is one of the active ingredients in all those anti-cellulite creams you use.) (Not me, though, because I don't have cellulite. Ha. Right.) Anyway, I'll let you know how I like it.


3) Trattamento D'Alternanza Exfoliating Treatment by Oscar Blandi


I treat my scalp as an extension of my face and love hair/scalp tonics and treatments of all kinds. This one supposedly gets all warm and tingly when it's on your scalp and I just can't wait to try it.

PS - One of my favorite hair/scalp treatments is Lisa's Hair Elixer from Carol's Daughter.


It smells delicious and leaves your scalp clean and your hair, silky and soft. You should give it a try.
