What I'm Reading Now

Michael lives in my neighborhood. I do not know him but I see him around all the time. This book (his first) was named one of the top 10 best books of 2007 by the NY Times Book Review. He also just won the Impac Dublin Literary Award.

Janelle interviewed me eons ago for Salon.com. She's a sassy lady who's super nice. This is her first novel. It received rave reviews and I loved every minute of it.

Bank Teller

Will Ferrell is on David Letterman right now and he said he was once a bank teller.

I was a bank teller once, too. For four months when I was 21. I hated it. I had to wear a suit. And hose. And heels. Every single day.

And you know, I was 21, so I was hung-over a lot. And I had to be there at 8:30 in the morning.

Yeah, that job didn't last too long.

They fingerprinted me, though, so the government has my fingerprints on file. Not that I run around committing crimes—but that's always freaked me out a little bit.

Has anyone else been a bank teller?
