This "winning" thing feels very familiar to him. Do you think Bush will try to steal this one, too?

...might be tomorrow's pain.

What a difference a day can make.
UPDATE: This post was linked to from Jossip. Thanks!
NOTE: Please don't steal the fine, Photoshopped image of George W. Bush, leader of the free world, clutching President Elect Al Gore's Oscar from the 79th annual Academy Awards. If you'd like to post it on your blog, you may do so. All I ask is that you credit me with a link back to this website. (Prominently, please... no little "source" link in the corner that no one clicks.) Any evildoers who do not follow the above rules will be denounced and held fully accountable for their actions. Thank you... and go GREEN!

First, Gore lost the election, it wasn't stolen. Second, his movie was an amazing piece of propaganda, lies and exagerations. But it is a popular cause, so let's give him an Oscar.
Yeah, yeah... okay, Texas. Whatever you say. Let's chat when the earth burns up. Oh wait - we won't be able to because we'll have gone up in smoke with it!
hello karyn I'm sara hope I live in Reggio Calabria and I red about you in my book of ENGLISH my contact is sarotta9@hotmail.it
Funny! I'm glad to you're back to regular posting.
I am still waiting to see An Inconvenient Truth, I REALLY want to see it and apparently my work are trying to arrange showings for all members of staff (I work for EDF Energy in the UK which is a massive electricity firm) one of our big bosses sung its praises to the UK Parliment back along...O and PLEASE tell me that Ms. I'm-Too-Full-Of-Crap-To-Name-Myself is wrong and that the American public has more sense than to ENCOURAGE Bush??? I'd almost managed to convince myself it was all a terible mistake!
x
ps - who are you hoping gets the top spot in the next election?
Amazing piece of propaganda?? Are you kidding me?? I live in Texas - I voted for Bush, and I still think that movie was NOT propaganda. There comes a point where it's beyond politics and it's time to open your eyes. And that time has come. And Karyn - even though I did vote for Bush - that post was pretty funny. You rock girl!
omg. someone admits to voting for Bush!
I just like that Al Gore jets around in a private jet and the preaches about pollution. Instead of talking about it, be about it
Bush looks better in the tux anyway. And Gore, well he can just keep pretending that he invented the internet....right?
LoL Karyn, I love the photoshop art!
And Gore trumps Bush, in my opinion.
See what you have caused Karyn.....never talk about politics or money.....
Oh wait......
Did that~!
Heh, love the Photoshop job! Poor Al Gore =P
I'd just like to say to Anonymous #3: Al Gore has purchased a great deal of offsets (and yes, I realize that money can't buy everything, and that the carbon offset system isn't perfect) to pay off the flights he made, and he generally goes for commercial flights. He buys green energy options from his energy utility, and installed solar cells to his house. He's donated a lot of the profits from the book and the movie to groups fighting the sustainable fight - not to mention that in the process he's influenced thousands of people worldwide to make changes in their lives. Sure, Gore isn't perfect. I won't pretend that is. But he's done his part, and I respect that. It's always easier to tear people down.
Anyone who really wants to can go off the grid and emit zero carbon. However, it'd be pretty hard for Gore to influence and educate world leaders and millions of regular folks using only his bike and his rowing boat. I personally think his tireless travels contributing to a mass awakening outweighs the carbon emissions from his flying.
Oh, and he didn't actually claim to have invented the Internet. Rather, this is based on a somewhat clumsy statement by he made during an interview on CNN, and he has received support from some of the Internet creators for his contributions towards its development (cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore#1999_CNN_interview)
Thanks for the post!
Okay, I live in Canada so I'm never really sure what is real in US news reporting because for the most part, we as a nation don't really care for Bush. But I think Al Gore has just put a big fat target on his back by being so high profile at the Oscars. A radio news story this morning is spinning that Al Gore lives in some big ass mansion in Nashville that consumes more electricity in a month than the average home does in a year. Good god...please tell me he has installed low flow toilets and showerheads in his 8 bathrooms....not that I really want to think of Al Gore (or Tipper for that matter) on the toilet or in the shower. *shuddering*
I like Al Gore and I think his efforts are genuine. Maybe when non-believer anonymous sees their first dead polar bear, they'll believe. Sweetheart, come up here and see how our terrain has changed and you won't be so quick to think its propoganda and exaggeration.
I don't need a dead polar bear to realize that there is a problem. I just don't think that Al Gore is a good choice for the poster child of this cause. George Bush would also be a poor choice. There has to be someone out there who is a little more neutral...
karyn thinks she is celebrity blogger now. first she vows to stop reading celebrity blogs and now she writes her own. you're too original. stick with what you know.
Commenting on celebrity fashion is very different than gossiping about the personal lives of celebrities.
Nice try, though.
Agh. I can't believe there are people still ok with the big bad B. I would think they had no brain cells left from all the UV rays and tornadoes and rising sea levels but my dear cute awesome aunt is one of them. What can you do?!? At least their vote only counts once, like ours.
and...agreed. this bleeding heart liberal also says Go Green. love ya (in a nonspecific i don't know you personally way), girl.
