What I'm Reading Now

Michael lives in my neighborhood. I do not know him but I see him around all the time. This book (his first) was named one of the top 10 best books of 2007 by the NY Times Book Review. He also just won the Impac Dublin Literary Award.

What I Just Read

My rating:

(I need to cry for 5 stars.)

Janelle interviewed me eons ago for Salon.com. She's a sassy lady who's super nice. This is her first novel. It received rave reviews and I loved every minute of it.

Gisele

How would you feel about this if you were Bridget Moynahan?

Giselle Bundchen recently did an interview for Vanity Fair magazine and talked about Tom Brady and Bridget Monyhan's son (her stepson.) After saying she has never met Bridget, she said:

I understand that he has a mom, and I respect that, but to me it’s not like because somebody else delivered him, that’s not my child. I feel it is, 100 percent. I want him to have a great relationship with his mom, because that’s important, but I love him the same way as if he were mine. I already feel like he’s my son, from the first day.”

On one hand, it's nice to know your child is so incredibly loved when he isn't with you—you'd hate to think he's around someone who doesn't love him completely. But on the other hand, he's not her child, you know?

Maybe what she was trying to say came out wrong.

My Those

Nora and I were playing outside today and decided to go on her seesaw. I wasn't wearing a bra because I washed it earlier and it was hanging to dry, but I didn't think much of it because it was just the two of us. As I started "flopping" up and down Nora pointed to my chest and said, "I can see your those."

"My what?" I asked because I didn't have a clue what she was talking about.

"Those," she said, and then she reached over and slapped one of my boobs.

DJ Nora

One day she's going to be so mad at me because of this photo.

DJ Nora

Right after I snapped it I said to my sister, "Lisa, you might want to fix her hair."

PS - Isn't she adorable?

He's Doing It Again

My dad. This is what he does: He tells you all the jokes that his friends forward to him on the internet, and then if he forgets one, he asks to borrow a laptop and starts going through his email, reading them aloud.

He's been at it all day long.

"Did I tell you the one about the dog urinating?"

"Yes, Dad, you did."

UPDATE: It's 8:55 and he's still reading jokes.

Mr. Earbuds

I have the urge to lean over to this guy in the earbuds sitting next to me and be like, "Pussy."

My New DJ Headphones

I'm on the train going to my sister's house right now because my dad's in town for a visit. I'm wearing my new over-the-ear headphones. I hate the earbud ones. They give me a headache and I can hear my head bzzzzzzz when I wear them (which is my brain working hard, no doubt.)

What you can't see is that I'm dancing in this picture.
