What I'm Reading Now

Michael lives in my neighborhood. I do not know him but I see him around all the time. This book (his first) was named one of the top 10 best books of 2007 by the NY Times Book Review. He also just won the Impac Dublin Literary Award.

Janelle interviewed me eons ago for Salon.com. She's a sassy lady who's super nice. This is her first novel. It received rave reviews and I loved every minute of it.

The New Boombox

I saw this portable amplifier made for MP3 players in today's New York Times. The article said it's an ideal "summertime companion for block parties, tailgate blowouts, picnics, family reunions and rocking at the beach."

Screw the beach—I'd get this puppy and roll it down the street while running my errands right here in good ole Brooklyn.

Remember when everyone used to walk around carrying boomboxes on their shoulder in the eighties? This is the new, updated version of that, totally made for today's lazier society.

No need to use those muscles and hoist it up on your shoulder—just pull out the collapsible handle and you're off.

Sweet.
