Hey All You Lushes
Google Mail has just launched a new feature called "Mail Goggles," a program that hopes to help prevent you from sending those late-night drunk emails that you might regret in the morning.
From Gmail...
Google strives to make the world's information useful. Mail you send late night on the weekends may be useful but you may regret it the next morning. Solve some simple math problems and you're good to go. Otherwise, get a good night's sleep and try again in the morning. After enabling this feature, you can adjust the schedule in the "General" settings page."

So, if you get better at math when you're drunk, then this program probably won't help you. Or, if you're sober and working late one night and just really bad at math, then this program might make sending that important email more difficult and could cause you to lose your job.
Look, I'm just saying you've got some loopholes, here, Google.
You might have more luck flagging and refusing to send messages that contain the phrases "I still love you" and "Why won't you take my phone calls?" At least that would be more effective with regards to me.
I kid, really. But anywho...
In case you're interested in enabling Mail Goggles, it's under the "Lab" tab of your Gmail settings.
Now if only my BlackBerry had a similar thing with regards to text messages...

A Movie
They're filming a movie outside my apartment today. The signs say it's called "Listen to Your Heart." According to IMDB, Cybil Shepherd is in it.
I'm not so excited.
It's Him! It's Him!
Via WNBC... A squirrel breaks into a house and bites a girl. Click here to watch the video.
I'm telling you, I'd recognize that squirrel anywhere!
Jack's Hat
I'm going to try again this year to knit Jack an acceptable winter hat. (Remember last year's ill-received Pippi Longstocking look?)
I asked my sister if I could make it lavender because I have tons of Debbie Bliss baby cashmerino yarn in that color (an abandoned sweater project for Nora), but she said no.
Boys can wear lavender, so I don't understand why. But anyway, now I'm making it brown.
Brown.
Brown.
Brown.
Brown is so boring.
I have two balls of brown Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran (an abandoned Teddy Bear project—I don't finish many things), so I hope it will be enough.
Maybe I can put lavender trim on it.

Debate
I'm having my neighbors over for the debate tonight.
What they don't know is that I'm going to pull out my Scattergories game and make them play it with me.
I love Scattergories.
Vote For Bev
Vote for Beverly in "Your Scene" in the LA Times!
Sand, Surf, Pup
I don't live in LA and don't know why I submitted her picture. Regardless, the "bestest" dog in the "Man's Best Friend" album has 49 votes.
Beverly has 13 right now! Please click her picture and then click the "Best" box underneath it to help make her number one!
Thank you!
UPDATE: Beverly is in first place! Let this be a lesson to pups everywhere... If your mommy has a blog that's read by a lot of people, you too can be voted best pup! Thank you everybody!

- watching the Today show. Why are they teaching people how to cheat in a casino? It's like teaching someone how to rob a deli. It's illegal. #
- watching Alicia Keys on the Today show. Damn, she is pretty. #
- at Trader Joe's again. I have a feeling this is going to be a daily occurence. #

Andie
Andie from Sweet. Southern. Spirited. came to NYC this weekend and the two of us met up on Saturday. It was so fun!
We met at a church in Little Italy where local independent designers sell their wares. It's called The Market NYC and it's held every weekend.
Anywho, Andie showed up with a bunch of goodies for me from New Orleans. She brought me some Cafe Du Monde beignet mix, a bag of Community Coffee, some Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning (which she said was good on popcorn) and some Pup-Peroni dog treats for Bev—low fat, none the less. She put it all in a pretty bag and everything. It was so nice! Here's what it looked like:
So anyway, she gives me this nice bag of stuff and what did I have for her?
A Banana Bunker.
Seriously.
This is what my gift looked like:
Remember when I wrote about them? Well, a few months ago the people from Vat19 sent me a couple. As I was running out the door to meet Andie, it occurred to me that maybe I should bring her something. Just then, I saw the Banana Bunkers out of the corner of my eye, so I grabbed one and ran out the door. I didn't even put it in a bag. After Andie gave me my gift, I seriously just pulled it out of my purse and handed it over. How ghetto am I? Andie looked at it like, Oh, wow... thanks. And then she just held on to it for a bit because it wouldn't fit in her purse and she didn't know what to do with it. And you know, it looks like a dildo, so it was kind of awkward. Thankfully her friend (she brought a friend) eventually took it and put it in her purse.
Anywho, after leaving the church (I didn't get anything, but Andie did), we had lunch at a nearby cafe and then went to a sample sale. It was late in the afternoon by the time we got there so most of the stuff was picked over, but you'll never believe what they had:
Katharine Hamnett "Choose Life" t-shirts! Remember when I wrote about them?
Well, they retail for $79 and at this place they were... ding! ding! ding! Twelve dollars. I bought two of them. (A white one with black writing and a pink with green writing.)
Bev came with because she and Andie's dog Scruffy have a thing for each other and she wanted to meet the woman who could be her mother-in-law one day (Sorry, Chumley.) Here are some pics.
Here are Andie & Bev:
Here's the same pic except Bev is now slipping into a food coma from all the Pup Peroni treats:
Later, Bev wanted to whisper something in Andie's ear. She wouldn't tell me what it was, but I think it was something about Scruffy.
Okay, maybe not.
Here Andie and I are:
Btw, we are sitting outside The Mercer Hotel, the place Mark wouldn't let me take a bath.
Okay, that's all!
Happy Monday!
PS - Miranda, I know I never wrote about our day together. I will later! xx
Schmap
I got an email through Flickr this morning saying one of my photos has been short-listed to be included in the fifth edition of the Schmap New York Guide.
I didn't even submit it—how exciting! I hope I make it!
Here's the photo:
I took it during Coney Island's Mermaid Parade.
I haven't visited Schmap before today but now I'm going to use it for all my mapping needs!
Click here to check it out!
